Here at Stanton Library, we had the honour of listening to this wonderful book being read by it’s author Rod Clements!

Rod Clements also read out 2 of his other books; “Olga the Brolga” and “Just Another Ordinary Day”. Storytime was followed up with a craft session where children created colourful feathered headcrests, and Constant Reader Bookshop proved copies of Rod Clements books for sale, which were signed by the author.

National Simultaneous Storytime is a feature event in the Australian Library and Information Week (ALIA) calendar. The book chosen this year is published by HarperCollins and was selected as this year’s book because of its themes of self-acceptance and learning that appearances aren’t everything.

Here at Stanton we think that is certainly true. You shouldn’t judge a book by it’s cover. Even though dressups can be fun.
